NEMPEE ACOUSTICS SOFTWARE For Architectural Acoustics  

This is a powerful Software tool for Acoustics Engineers & Architects.    Based on Mathematical calculations, it determines the acoustical parameters of a room, such as the reverberation time.

You can select your Measurement System Either Meter or Feet

Select the Application type. 

Enter the Volume.

Enter the Humidity.  

Select the Surfaces & Enter the Areas of the surfaces present, like floor, wall and ceiling.

The desired reverberation time & average Absorption Coefficient will be calculated for reference and as a target.

Select Absorption materials  from The database, and apply to the surfaces.

You can Add more Materials to this database.

During the design process, the resulting reverberation figures & curves are shown continuously, thereby providing the designer with a highly convenient feedback.

Eyring's Reverberation Formula  


This Formula is applicable to all rooms where diffused conditions of sound exist.
This formula is more universal in application than any other formula.

Effect Of Shape Of the Room


The Reverberation Formulae are based on statistical calculations, using the total room volume and the total absorption present, assuming a diffuse sound field.  The reverberation time depends on the mean free path.  The formula we used considers the room shape as rectangular.  This mean free path varies with different shapes.  But in practice this formula has proven to be a good approximation of reality. Maximum error of 8 to 10 % may result with very odd shapes.

The Technique To Follow

 

Calculate the required quantity of absorption material with the help of NEMPEE Acoustics Software.

The location of the absorbent material to be worked out according to rules accepted by experience.

 Reverberation measurements are taken after the room is completed & modifications, if necessary, should be done to obtain the desired reverberation.
